• The idea behind •
The idea of this art creation is to combine ethnic Ukrainian patterns, which were originally used in the folk embroidered shirts, called Vyshyvanka, and the modern style which will fit contemporary interiors.
The colors used in this wall decoration are black, red, and white, symbolic of Ukrainian embroidery, and neutral beige, a classical color for modern interiors.
• The meaning •
Traditionally, Vyshyvanka clothes are believed to protect the person wearing them and to tell a story. Every pattern of the embroidery has its own meaning.
Similarly, our decorative wall art is believed to protect a home where it is hung.
The patterns used in our work have their own meanings, which are highly important today in 2022 not only for the Ukrainian nation but for the whole world.
The square formed by the red and black elements in the center of the hanging is a symbol of peace and well-being.
The floral motifs below the central pattern symbolize the life and prosperity of the family.
This art is a tribute to peace and saving lives in Ukraine.
